Innovative solutions for shared progress
The internationalization process of the Calabrian economic - productive system inevitably needs to develop and increase multi-sectoral actions: from exporting products to attracting investment and human capital.
However, the strong delay with which the Calabria system is moving makes it essential to juxtapose these activities with operations of accompaniment, education and training for internationalization, providing for interventions capable of increasing the improvement of companies' capacities to build innovative relationships and relations with foreign partners and meet - especially in qualitative terms - the needs and requirements of the international market.
Hence the proposal of the Calabrian Institute of International Policy to promote a series of international initiatives aimed at contributing to the development of the economic, productive, cultural and social system of the regional system.
In this sense, the Institute involves all production sectors of the Calabrian economic system, relaunching a new image of Calabria and its production system in the international arena.
The growing strategic importance of the phenomenon of internationalization of regional economies and society is a determining factor in the growth prospects of a given area.
The term "internationalization," however, has taken on an increasingly broad and pervasive meaning, especially in recent years: in addition to the usual and traditional phenomena of commercial exchange of goods and services or the international investment activities of companies, relationships inherent in other factors of production that are increasingly being recognized as the basis of economic and social development, such as, for example, flows of human capital, knowledge and the nature of institutional international relations (e.g., through twinning, internships, language training or development cooperation), also play an increasingly important role.
It is precisely from the need to combine economic and business development initiatives with initiatives and activities of international cooperation between countries, enhancement of local cultures and human capital that IsCaPI's proposal oriented to the promotion in the world of a "Calabria package" was born.
